Dr Tan was the President of Malaysian Endodontic Society from 2014 - 2016. He is also a part-time lecturer and clinical demonstrator in endodontics at the University of Malaya. He had published several clinical and research papers in local, Australian and international journals. He lectures extensively nationally.
